Condition and Value Survey
Condition and Value Survey
A boat insurance survey will typically be requested by insurance company to determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk.
They are interested in the structural integrity, safety for the vessels intended use, and the vessel's fair market and replacement value.
Typically the sea trial and lifting out of the water out is not required, depending of the insurance company specific requirements.
The marine insurance survey is a limited form of survey to assist insurance underwriters in making underwriting decisions.
The survey has two main purposes which is to identify the vessel, equipment, condition and general value and to also identify defects, damages or hazardous conditions that pose a potential threat to the safety of the vessel and passengers and any conditions that could result in loss or damage.
